SX20 Automatic C/Z Purlin Interchangeable Roll Forming Machine

The SX20 automatic C/Z purlin roll forming machine solutionis the advanced evolutionary model of our classic SX10. Specially engineered for high-efficiency steel structure production, the SX20 introduces Pre-Punching (replacing post-punching) and an integrated Pre-Shearing function. This smart upgrade significantly reduces material waste, ensures high-precision hole alignment, and delivers ultimate cost-effectiveness for factory owners.

FAQ

What is the difference between C and Z purlins?

A C purlin has a C-shaped section with both flanges on the same side, while a Z purlin has flanges on opposite sides so sections can nest and lap for better load transfer on long spans. C purlins suit shorter spans and simple framing; Z purlins suit longer, continuous roofs. The SX20 produces both on one machine.

How long does it take to switch from C to Z profile?

About 5 minutes. The SX20 uses a fast C/Z interchanging system that needs only 3 steps to change profiles, and the cutting blades do not need to be replaced.

What steel thickness can the SX20 process?

1.0 mm to 3.0 mm, in cold rolled, hot rolled, or galvanized coil, with steel grades Q195, Q235, and Q345.

What is the production speed of the SX20?

Working speed is 12 to 18 m/min, with a maximum forming speed of 25 m/min, depending on the number of holes being punched.

What is pre-punching on a purlin machine?

Pre-punching punches holes into the flat steel strip before roll forming, instead of after. It improves hole alignment accuracy and reduces material waste. The SX20 comes with pre-punching and pre-shearing as standard.

How much does a purlin roll forming machine cost?

The price depends on configuration: material thickness, punching system, de-coiler, and controls. The SX20 is a 3.0 mm automatic C/Z machine with pre-punching and PLC control. Contact sales@metoform.com with your purlin sizes and output target for a quotation.

Can the SX20 make custom purlin sizes?

Yes. The forming rollers and PLC control are configured for your target purlin sizes, and the punching system can be customized for more holes per section.
